Requirements of UMP Courses

When applying to the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), it's important to understand the specific entry requirements for the various courses they offer.  How to Apply for 2025 at UMP

The application process at UMP is simple, but it’s important to follow each step carefully to ensure your application is successful. Here’s a breakdown of the application process:

  • Visit the UMP Website

The first step in applying to UMP is to visit the official UMP website. The application portal is available under the "Admissions" section. Once you’re there, you’ll find detailed information about the application process.

  • Start your online application

Fill out the online application form. You will be asked to provide basic personal details, including your name, contact information, and ID number. You will also be required to fill in your parents personal details and school leaving details. 

  • Select Course

Select the course you want to apply for. You will be required to select your first and second choice. Ensure that you qualify for these courses before you begin your online application. 

  • Upload Required Documents

UMP requires the following certified and scanned documents:  

  1. Certified copy of your ID or passport
  2. Certified copy of your matric certificate or final results (for Grade 12 students)
  3. You need to upload the slip that shows you have successfully paid the UMP application fee.  The UMP application fee is R150 for South African students, other African Countries R350 and countries outside Africa R500 for the 2025 academic year.
  4. Other academic transcripts or certificates (if you have already completed previous tertiary studies)
  • Submit Your Application

Once you’ve completed your application form and uploaded your documents, you can review your application and submit it. You will receive a confirmation email with your application reference number. This application reference number is your student number and pin. 

 

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

It’s crucial to stay on top of the application deadlines to avoid missing out on a chance to study at UMP. Below are the UMP closing dates for 2025 applications:

  • Application Deadline for Undergraduate Studies: 30 November 2024
  • Application Deadline for Honours Programmes, Advanced Diplomas and Postgraduate Diplomas: 30 November 2024.
  • Application Deadline for Doctoral Programmes: 30 January 2025.
