How to apply to Nursing Colleges in South Africa for 2025

Many nursing colleges now offer an online application process through their websites. Be sure to follow the application instructions carefully, as incomplete applications may not be considered. If online applications aren’t available, download the application form from the college’s website or collect it from the admissions office. Submit the completed form with the required documents either in person or by post. Here’s a general step-by-step guide to help you through the application process:

  • visit the desired nursing college website 
  • Apply Online OR Download the Application Form
  • Fill in your personal details, next of kin details and your results
  • Choose the courses you want to apply for
  • Upload the certified and scanned documents (The required documents depending on the course you are applying for may include; certified ID copy, certified matric certificate or 11 final report, parent/next of kin certified ID copy, proof of residence, qualification certification, marriage certificate, SANC certificate)
  • Submit your application
  • You will get confirmation that your application has been submitted successfully. 
  • Pay application fee (Other nursing colleges do not require one to pay an application fee and other nursing colleges require an application fee. Application fees may range from R50 to R1000)

 

Admission Requirements for the nursing courses

Admission requirements for nursing courses can vary depending on the course you want to apply for. For example, requirements for a higher certificate in nursing are not the same as requirements for a Diploma in nursing. Here are some common requirements:

  • Latest Results (grade 11 final results/senior certificate OR National Senior Certificate
